Pairline is a reading tool for people who read websites in another language. It keeps the original page and adds lightweight annotations close to the text.
Not a page-replacement translator
Pairline does not replace the webpage with another language. It keeps the source visible and adds lightweight annotations close to it. It preserves the original page structure and typography as much as possible while creating a little extra reading space for annotations.
How it works
Pairline uses Chrome's built-in, on-device translation. Your settings and necessary cache stay in your browser, and page text is not sent to Pairline-owned servers.
Who it is for
People who regularly read websites in another language and want help without leaving the original page. Reddit receives enhanced handling, while Pairline also supports a broad range of ordinary web pages in Public Beta.
Where it is today
Pairline 0.1.8 is in Public Beta and available for desktop Google Chrome. It has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and is currently under review. The reading layer works today; compatibility varies by site and language pair.
